Opinions please--were you all disappointed, shocked or satisfyingly smug following David Letterman's?

I thought, good for him that he refused to be blackmailed, that took courage. Also, he was discreet, gave only the basic facts, and this way everyone keeps their dignity - except the guy who tried to gouge money from him. Who I'm sure had everyone's best interests at heart, LOL.
