What is the AOC SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM at UWM?

I had gotten a letter from uwm talking about the aoc summer bridge program to improve my academic skills and there tutoring involved and smaller cles. however i don't understand if this is required of me to join?? its in the summer. all its says is this program is your admission and if not you will be rescinded?? what does that even mean?? it said i was accepted but what i am getting out of this letter is that if i dont join this program then my adimission at uwm will be taking away? am i right??
