Atrial fibrillation and ablation, is pacemaker implanted also?

I had atrial fibrillation. Already on a 2nd ICD before I got the ablation. The cardiologist will try with drugs first. The EP Dr. will access if you need an ablation and the pacemaker. An ablation, starts out like a cardiac cahterization and they will stop the pathways in the heart (AV node) that causes the a-fibs from happening again. If you have ablation you may need a pacemaker. Probably not the same day, you would have one sore leg and pain in your left shoulder. An EP is a cardiologist that studies the electrical pathways of the heart.
